Are you interested in meeting others from Jan Phyl Village? Come join us, at our monthly meetings. They are held the fourth Thursday of the month at the Polk County Sheriffs office, located at 3635 Ave G NW, Winter Haven. Time: 7:00 PM. Come, voice your conceerns, get involved.
Mission Statement -
Our mission is to work together and educate our community for the common good of a safe and healthy neighborhood. We must promote a "no tolerance" policy on drugs and crime. We also will encourage everyone to clean up, fix up work together to keep the value of our property competitive, and to revitalize our community and make it beautiful, safe and drug free community that we will all be proud of. Remember it takes us working together to accomplish all our goals.

Meeting Thursday June 26th at PCSO Ave G.
Our President Larry Cleary has made a career change with a new employer. As such he will not have time off for six months and will be working evenings. This precludes hhim sitting as chairman of JPVRA Thursday Evening Meetings. All Monthly meetings are suspended until further notice. At the April meeting he announced his employment status and its impact on JPVRA status.
He asked for a nomination for a new president. After some discussion no replacement was nominated. Larry was forced to adjourn the meeting without a resolution to our leadership problem. If anyone wishes to take on the resposibilities of the presidency of the JPVRA and the chairmanshop of the monthly meetings, contact Larry or any of the other contacts listed on this website.
Open Enrollment for September session of Citizens' Academy begins TOMORROW. Click Enrollment is limited to 30 people, after that a Waiting List will be formed.
There have been activities concerning motorized vehicles on the sidewalks. In an attempt to educate the public as to the rules the Sheriff has provided us with the rules.

January 29, 2007 The Polk County Neighborhood Services Department/Leisure Services Division is requesting public comment for the development of a Master Plan for Jan Phyl Park.
PBS&J, a design firm under contract to the County, will present two conceptual plans that incorporate existing conditions, site analysis and information gained from a previous public meeting on proposed uses for the park site.

December 22, 2006 Leisure Services continues to work with the design consultant on a couple of conceptual plans for the Master Plan of Jan Phyl Park. We have reviewed a couple of different designs, which we sent back to the consultant with numerous comments. We did not believe they were responsive to the comments of the first public meeting, nor were of sufficient quality in order to present for a second public input meeting. The latest glitch is the primary staff person for the consultant has left the firm. That entails gearing up with new personnel to complete the project, we are in that process right now. I wish we had better news to report, but we will continue to work with the consultant to produce a good work product and will bring that information forward as soon as it is available.
