Meeting Minutes

May 25^th 2006

The JPVRA meeting was held on May 25th, 2006 at the PCSO District Center on Ave G. President Bill Brown opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. The April minutes was read and accepted as is.

Thea gave us more stamps which was greatly appreciated. We mailed out another 19 friendly code letters. One was mailed to wrong address.

Old Business:

* Having another clean up day was discussed. There were workers out on May 20th picking up trash in the neighborhood (people having to do community service) Need to keep a watch for trash on roadway and ditches as we can have them come again in July. Will need to call roadway maintenance to have the buggies removed from ditches.

* Yard Sale/Fall Fair the date picked was Saturday, October 21st. Need ideas for activities for the kids.

* Al updated the web page for us. Looks great. Thank you Al for your hard work.

* Remember to pull up signs along roadway. Helps community look better.

* The bar at plaza and house on Fern is still being monitored by the Sheriffs dept.

* Have you seen a house on your street that should receive a Beautification Award. Let us know.

* Apts. by Del's Harvey Green of code division has an on going case on it.

New Business:

* Some of us are getting together Saturday June 17th at 10:00 to pass out flyers. We will be doing this at Winn Dixie if you would like to come join us.

* Was discussed maybe having our Meetings in different locations to see if more people would come. If you have any ideas let us know. We need our attendance to grow.

* The Sheriffs dept. was out in the neighborhood on May 18th, 19th, 20th, and 24th. They gave out 59 traffic citations, arrested 1, and 88 Traffic stops.

* Need to add 401 Fern Rd to code list.

* Need to make signs or have some signs made to promote our meetings. Lynn will check around to see about how much it would cost. She will check with Pro Graphic.

* Need to have the reverse 911 call to remind neighbors about meeting.

* Sheriffs office gave us some signs promoting no tolerance to drugs in the neighborhood. If anyone would like one to put in there yard let us know.

* Was discussed getting with Businesses to see if they would donate items to the Association to use as rewards for the Beautification Awards or maybe for the Fall Fair.
