Meeting Minutes

October 27^th 2005

The Jan Phyl Village Revitalization Association had its second monthly meeting on October 27^th 2005. The meeting was held at the PCSO District Center located at 3635 Ave. G, Winter Haven, FL. At 7:00. The meeting was brought to order by Alphonso Lewis, neighborhood partnerships specialist, of Polk County.

Alphonso was there to help the community organize a neighborhood association. He explained that in order to better our community that we had to work together to make it happen. He also explained the importance of electing officers: president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. With that a priority officers were elected. The President Is Bill Brown, Vice

President is Russ Atkinson, Secretary is Martha Bruce, and Treasurer is Still open.

The meetings will be held the 4^th Thursday of each month except for November and December which will be the 3^rd Thursday due to the holidays. The time will be at 6:30 pm at the PCSO District Center at 3635 Ave. G , Winter Haven, Fl. The county will do a call through the 911 system or a mailout to remind The community of the meeting.

One of our neighbors, Al Lococo, has volunteered to create a website for the association. this is another way to get the word out about the neighborhood meetings. Way to go Al.

Alphonso was also telling us about a presidents meeting held the 2^nd Thursday of each month. This meeting is for the presidents and one guest of each association to discuss problems and concerns the members have about Crime, drugs, garbage, etc.

We need a mission statement. Let us all come together and come up with one.

Number in attendance 14 and 4 deputy sheriffs.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00.
