August 24th 2006

The August 24th meeting was opened by President, Bill Brown, with the Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone was welcomed and the July minutes were read and accepted. Lynn reported that the balance for the organization is $281.06.

    Old Business

*) By Laws-Restrictions- Leroy brought to meeting the restrictions that were in force at the time he purchased his home in November 1957. They expired in January 1990. The restrictions for the community now are handled by the County Code Enforcement.

*) Sidewalks-Justin called about getting sidewalks on 2nd, 7th,and Hatfield. Was advised they will put her request on waiting list and it could take up to 7 years.

*) Code Violations-need to check with Harvey about house on Coleman (van service)-need to call about camper on sidewalk on Vaniman.(Sheriff's dept will check out also)-need to call about buses on Fern Rd. It would be nice if more could be done to get people to respect the neighborhood.

    New Business

*) Grants for neighborhood improvements- need someone to volunteer to research to see what is available and what it takes to get them. Anyone interested let us know.

*) Several residents were concerned about speeding in the neighborhood.

*) Was suggested sending a letter to the County Commissioner about our needs in the community.

*) Yard Sale/Fall Fair-date changed to November 4th time 8:00am to 2:00pm. Need volunteers to work booths and need items for yard sale.
